Some blog rules

1. I Love Comments. That said, my comments are moderated.  I will ban any and all comments that bash Islam, my person, family or readers, or reveal private information about my person, my family or my readers. I use the DP handle in a variety of places and while it is pretty easy to put two and two together- DON’T. Even if you post to my comments and I do not approve your message, that does not mean that I have not kept a copy of the message and your IP address for “future use”; comments and/or commenters that cross the line repeatedly will be reported to the appropriate authorities. Furthermore, in light of recent drama on other blogs (June 2008), if you choose to post nasty comments, and I allow them past moderation, I will not remove the comments when everyone has taken a chill pill so please think before you submit comments.

2. Despite the above, this is a limited free speech area and constructive criticism is welcome. I do not ban comments from strangers as a matter of course. If you are worried that your comment got trapped in my spam filter, send me an email. If you have a valid reason for not wanting to leave your email addy, again drop me an email. For this, I have to know you, and by knowing you, I mean “recognizable identity” be it online or IRL.  I will occasionally approve certain otherwise rejectable comments (ones with obviously fake email addys for example) depending on my mood, and as mentioned above (June 2008), once comments are up, they are up.

 3.  Password-protected posts will be the exception rather than the rule; however, if you are given the password(s), please do not give it (them) to anyone else without my express written permission. This includes giving it(them) to people you think I “must have forgotten accidentally.” If you know why I password-protect you know why I am spelling this out.

4. As a general rule, I do not post or approve publicity-seeking comments and mass comments unless the site is really, really good. I generally mark plugs as spam. But you get extra points for pointing me to podcasts.

5.  No sectarian comments regarding Islam.  I will not tolerate discussion involving Sufi-bashing, Salafi-bashing, Shia-bashing, Ahbash-bashing, Zaytuna-bashing, or Dar ul Big Beard-bashing, hijabi-bashing, non-hijabi bashing, HT bashing and so on.  We are all accountable to Allah swt, the end and on the Day of Judgement we stand alone. If you choose to bash a Muslim group on my space, be aware that I may make an entire post where I bash the heck out of you for being Stoopid.

6. This sounds really pretentious but it is the thorn in my side when it comes to Mozzie blogging: If there is a noted difference of opinion on a general subject, please assume that I and other commenters know the varying positions on the subject and are simply expressing a personal opinion.  A concrete example  of a “general subject” would be “halal meat.” Other general subjects include moon sighting, makeup, alcohol in perfume, jilbabs, high heels, polygamy, music, etc.  If someone disagrees with you, it doesn’t mean they are stupid and haven’t thought about it, it just means they disagree with you. The Ummah is divided enough and I would like to draw a line somewhere.

7. Don’t gank my pictures.  I think watermarking is the suck so I don’t.  See point number 1 for what happens to picture gankers. My email is public, it ain’t that hard to give me credit for my pictures.  This goes double for my Algeria pics. Also, no copying and pasting of copyrighted material in the comments. If you have a link you would like to share, that is fine, unless it comes from Fox News or LGF or something.

8.  Don’t say anything on here you wouldn’t say to yo mama. I am not entirely against cuss words, but sometimes too much is too much. This blog is more PG-13 than G but still.

9. No Mississippi-bashing, Louisiana-bashing, redneck-bashing, or The South-bashing please. Ain’t nothin wrong with being a little bit country. Just because I am x, y and z does not mean I have no love for my roots.  I am and remain a southern girl at heart.

10. You agree to the above when you choose to post comments in a public forum so no crying please. Sorry to be a witch about it but have been blogging too long.

hey cncz do you have any family members with funny names? my grandfather(on my mom’s side) is from natchitoches and my grandmother(again mom’s side) is from Mississippi. His middle name is gurley. His sisters names are: dottie dee, ticia(pronounces tishy) joe, bobbie mac, lucia inez and edna posey. Can’t get anymore redneck than that hahahaha

DP Note: My Brother’s nickname is Bubba. We also get called by our first and middle names. I am technically all Mississippi (using the Britney Spears rule of descent) even though I grew up in The Dell.
